*Description*
The System Administrator is responsible for managing our Azure infrastructure, overseeing the physical network, handling calls from the service desk, and providing on-site support to company locations such as our production facility and warehouse. This role ensures the optimal performance, security, and reliability of our IT systems. Key Responsibilities: * Azure Administration: Manage and maintain the company's Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage accounts, and our Microsoft online suite of solutions, such as O365, Exchange, and Teams. * System Management: Maintain and update Group Policy, Group Permissions, File Permissions, and Security Policies to ensure compliance and security. * Windows Server Management: Secure, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain Windows Server Operating Systems. Optimize servers in Azure and follow best practices. * Active Directory: Maintain AD organization units and user accounts. Ensure separated users are disabled and delated and AD data is kept current and consistent. * Endpoint and Antivirus Management: Install and monitor our endpoint management solution and centrally managed antivirus solution. * Monitoring and Alerts: Maintain a database of endpoints and monitor critical devices, alerting 24/7 to outages. * Physical Network Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the physical network, ensuring optimal performance and security. * Security: Maintain current patch level for firewall, switches, wireless access points, and related network equipment. Maintain current patch levels for Windows Server and desktop operating systems. Implement and follow all best practice standards regarding user, service, and administrator accounts. Respond and investigate security incidents. * Service Desk Support: Handle requests from the service desk, providing expert troubleshooting and resolution for complex technical issues. Provide technical oversight and direction to junior staff as needed. * On-Site Support: Respond to and support company locations, including the production facility and warehouse in Newport News, VA, ensuring all IT systems are operational and secure. * Remote Support: Provide remote support to an international remote workforce and locations along with sites in the UK and Pennsylvania to resolve a variety of endpoint and infrastructure issues. * Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members and vendors to implement and maintain best practices for network and system administration. * Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for infrastructure, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Accurately and completely submit service desk tickets to include troubleshooting steps, key updates, and resolution steps. * Purchasing: Recommend hardware and software solutions along with network and security appliances. * Onboarding/Offboarding: Assist with the hire and separation of users, maintain accurate data fields in AD, assign and recover licenses, and recover assets. * Messaging: Maintain and administer Exchange O365 along with filtering solutions; whitelisting and blacklisting. * Backup and Disaster Recovery: Maintain and ensure all company data and systems are backed up and recoverable. * Vendor Management: Closely monitor vendor access to environment with an eye towards security. Maintain relationships and work with vendors on projects. Help and guidance on vendor related tasks. Escalate incidents to vendors and work with vendor on resolutions. * Manufacturing Support: Provide support for manufacturing facility as it relates to IT. Work with various vendors to maintain uptime on critical equipment connected to the network such as: Gerber machinery, barcoding devices, shipping label printers, and associated devices. * Applications: Work in partnership with our Enterprise Applications team to assist in troubleshooting functionality and integration issues between applications and infrastructure. *Qualifications* * Experience in Azure administration and managing Microsoft online solutions (O365). * Experience adjusting resources within Azure (sizing, provisioning). * Knowledge of Windows Server Operating Systems and Active Directory. * Knowledge of Azure storage (BLOB, File, Queue, Table, and Disk Storage). * Experience managing and maintaining firewalls, WAPs, and switches. * Experience managing firewall/network security. * Experience with endpoint management and antivirus solutions. * Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. * Strong communication and collaboration skills. * Ability to maintain confidentiality. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Ability to prioritize incidents and requests. * Strong time management: ability to work project deliverables along with unexpected incidents and requests. Ability to prioritize incidents and requests. * Experience with physical network management. * Familiarity with service desk operations, tiers, and support. * Knowledge of best practices for IT security and compliance. * Basic Knowledge of ITIL practices: Change Management, Asset Management, Incident Management, Knowledge Management, and Root Cause Analysis. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $37.00/hr.
