Injection Molding Maintenance Technician (1st Shift)

We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, hardworking people to join Alcon! As an Electro Mechanic III supporting our manufacturing site, you will be trusted with the installation, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of our contact lens manufacturing lines in Johns Creek, GA.

In this role, a typical day will include:




  • Maintaining injection molding tooling



  • Working with team leaders and management to lead and advise the efforts of the Electro-Mechanics to meet production/distribution requirements



  • Setting priorities and providing direction to the shift Electro-Mechanics



  • Providing mentorship and training to help assist with the development of Electro Mechanics and production personnel by providing feedback on job performance



  • Assisting technicians in the installation, startup, and validation of the Dailies contact lens production equipmentAdvising and improving maintenance systems (preventative, corrective, predictive, and spare parts)



  • Leading technical projects for process upgrades and improvements



  • Minimizing production downtime and improving yield and quality



  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance for all production equipment including technical problems in mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and control systems



  • Assisting with revising or writing SOPs



  • Developing and delivering training material to other technicians for equipment, maintenance, and troubleshooting



  • Optimizing manufacturing equipment and processes to provide balanced gains in product quality, output, product yield, and cost reduction




WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:




  • High School Diploma or Equivalent



  • 3 Years of Relevant Experience



  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English



  • Work hours: Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM EST - 5:00 PM EST



  • Travel Requirements: 0%



  • Sponsorship & Relocation: Not Available




PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:




  • A technical degree is preferred in a related field



  • A related technical certification or equivalent training or experience in a manufacturing environment (e.g. manufacturing technology, electrical engineering, etc.)



  • Validated expert-level skills in 3 or more electro-mechanic core subject areas (mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, control systems, and/or equipment schematics)



  • Injection Molding Experience is a plus
