The Company

Rexnord Aerospace, a leading supplier in the Aerospace industry, is seeking an RBS Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement Intern reporting to the Senior Site RBS Leader. The RBS Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement Intern will helplead the site's tactical/strategic implementation of the lean, six sigma and RBS (Regal Rexnord Business Systems)efforts.

Aerospace Business Unit

Rexnord Aerospace supplies high performance spherical and cylindrical bearings, mechanical seals, gears and electrical components to commercial air transport markets. Our products are engineered to meet stringent requirements and are specified in engine systems, flight control systems, landing gear systems and airframe structures. Our global customer base includes major engine and airframe OEMs, tier suppliers and aircraft operators.

Brief Description

Rexnord Industries, LLC, a leading supplier in the Aerospace industry, is seeking an RBS Engineer/Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement Engineer Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement Engineer willlead the site's tactical/strategic implementation of the lean, six sigma and RBS (Rexnord Business Systems)efforts and supporting programs.In this position, you can make immediate contributions through enhancing the current on-time delivery (OTD), productivity, and profitability of the operation.

This position is located in Downers Grove, Illinois a western suburb of Chicago.

Key Accountabilities

  • Drive enhancements in daily management, visual management for sustainment of continuous improvement and 6S methodologies
  • Support lean and continuous improvement activities that directly impact on-time delivery, productivity and scrap reduction
  • Identify waste and reduce lead times, cycle times, work-in-process inventory at high-priority work cells
  • Alongside leadership, participate in site-wide value stream mapping exercise designed to highlight areas of improvement within critical product groups and inform continuous improvement activities for 6+ months
  • Update plant-wide reporting for key daily, weekly and monthly metrics
  • Promote RBS culture and associate involvement with co-facilitation of continuous improvement activities
  • Output from interns will receive high visibility and support from plant + divisional leadership
  • Other duties as required

  • Underway with Continue Improvement or Engineering Degree
  • Understanding of Lean in manufacturing and Process improvement
  • Strong data analysis skills along with problem solving
  • Excellent writing/administrative skills, including computer skills (word, excel, graphics, spreadsheet etc.)
  • Proficiency in time and project management.
  • Ability to work with others
  • Hourly Pay Rate for this position is $20.00.
