The Director of Product Management is responsible for the development and execution of product lifecycle roadmaps that enable sustainable differentiation for the business, while ensuring a balanced portfolio of investments in core products through the identification of new product development in top customers or markets utilizing the 80/20 principle.

This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams in engineering, sales, marketing, operations, and business leadership. As a leader, this position is responsible for developing a team of product managers who thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and are driven to excel and perform at their highest potential. This position is also responsible for driving activities and decisions focused on maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and growing market share.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

People Leadership

  • Culture - Foster a culture of acting with a high sense of integrity, inclusion, engagement, responsibility, transparency and performance with a sense of urgency.
  • Training and Development - Attract, develop, and retain talent within the department to ensure the competency level of all employees is enough to be fully effective in their roles.
  • Establish a results-oriented management style that measures and evaluates individual performance against clearly defined accountable competencies, responsibilities and objectives.

Product Leadership

  • Manage the product line P&L and the entire life cycle of all product lines within the business from strategic planning, product definition, tactical launch activities and end of life.
  • Develop and implement product IoT initiative and strategy
  • Operate as the internal voice of our customers across development teams, (primarily Engineering, Sales and Marketing) through an understanding of market requirements, product definition, training and launch activities.
  • Develop and implement a cohesive short- and long-term product line roadmaps.
  • Implement a robust product line simplification and platforming process that delivers cost savings and efficiencies.
  • Coordinate and lead the on-going Innovation/VOC exercises. Combining this information with a business case analysis to define business requirements and the products value proposition.
  • Manage new product development initiatives, return-on-Investment analysis, business cases and new product applications
  • Own the NPD funnel and use CFI process to drive NPD projects in partnership with cross-functional teams.
  • Develop core messaging and positioning for all products within the business based on the established value proposition.
  • Define pricing and sales strategy/policies for all products within the business and drives these through the division.
  • Maintain a high level of expertise in the competitive landscape including competitive product and pricing strategy.
  • Collaborate with other segment and division Product Managers to develop effective divisional product line development opportunities.
  • Analyze potential partner relationships that can either enhance current offerings or fill necessary gaps in offerings.
  • Leverage 80/20 and continuous improvement in all aspects of product management, decision making and actively participate in on-going projects team that maximize overall organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Consolidate divisional annual sales plans for all products, promotional and advertising efforts, and other meaningful data.
