Job Description
JOB OBJECTIVE: The Sales Intern will support the strategic Michigan territory, consisting of key large academic clients. You will work closely with the territory's Account Manager, the Midwest & CRO Regional Manager, and a host of internal overlay teams to align Promega's solutions with our clients' needs. The role will consist of both face-to-face as well as virtual customer interactions, in addition to the use of sales tools to maintain notes, prospect, and assist in account mapping. This is a remote internship, ideal candidate will be located in Detroit/Ann Arbor, MI.
CORE DUTIES:
1. Promptly respond to and/or triage inquiries from customers and colleagues, with consistent, readily available support from sales management and the appropriate overlay team members, to ensure customer satisfaction.
2. Travel in the field as necessary to provide support for (not deliver) instrument demos, installations, seminars, presentations, and other miscellaneous customer visits.
3. Use CRM and other internal databases to maintain appropriate notes.
4. Work with appropriate overlays (SPM, SBU, SCMT, NAM, etc.) for alpha/beta testing opportunities as well as Marketing Campaigns (including webinars).
5. Assist in additional projects/tasks as needed or assigned.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Pursuing bachelor's degree in the life sciences (Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and/or Protein Biochemistry), having completed introductory biology courses and lab work.
2. MS Office Proficiency.
3. Ability to conduct online research.
4. Independently motivated and works well with others.
5. Excellent communication skills (oral/written).
6. Excellent organizational skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Career interest in sales of life science consumables, instrumentation, and services.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Ability to travel to meetings as needed.
2. Ability to operate a computer and utilize software to accomplish required tasks as outlined above on a daily basis.
