Provide leadership and guidance, and as needed perform the capture of data in the field related to existing conditions, existing assets, and the construction of new assets using GPS type equipment. Oversee the internal Asset Survey Specialists and external survey resources assigned. Perform quality assurance checks on in-progress construction jobs, ensuring that the expected data quality standards are being met by both internal and external surveyors. Responsible for providing support to internal partners in support of the project closeout and completion process. Perform site spot checks for compliance to Peoples standards and regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Provide onsite support for Asset Track & Traceability; plan, execute, measure, audit and reconcile asset data gathered.
  • Supervise coordination of acquisition and maintenance of data regarding reference points, materials components, and their installed location, of natural gas assets. Ensures accurate mapping of asset locations with Asset Surveyors, Close out, and GIS staff. Supervise the team's quality control/quality assurance process of field captured data of GPS locations.
  • Resolve discrepancies through communication and investigate process steps.
  • Serve as point-of-contact and collaborates with Construction Supervisors, Work Group Leaders, Inspectors, Logistics, Closeout, Design, and GIS to address asset traceability issues.
  • Manage and or provide individual contribution towards the definition, specification, design, and test, GPS and hardware deliverables.
  • Mentor and train team members, assist in issue resolution; support and facilitate all their activities leading to the successful completion of their task.
  • Coordinate equipment/hardware supplies, repairs, and availability.
  • Provide support for preparation of reports, and completion of GPS As-built deliverables.
  • Daily updates to all required tracking software used within Peoples/department also in SAP (P6, BW etc.)
  • Ensure all Closeout responsibilities are assigned and completed within the defined timeline.
  • Plan, schedule, assign, and monitor the work of Asset Survey Specialists.
  • Monitor contractor activities and field data collection, to include review and approval of invoices.
  • Investigate material discrepancies between collected contractor data and Inspector reports for Closeout and GIS.
  • Supervise employee's productivity, including performance management, provide regular feedback and complete mid-year and annual work performance reviews for direct reports.
  • Advise, provide and/or assist in technical/safety training and development of employees and contractors.
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures. Implement, monitor, and ensure adherence to SOP.
  • Ensure proper work methods are applied and safety precautions are followed, including the proper use of SOP's and applicable guidelines.
  • Review and approve payroll, time off requests and invoices in a timely manner.
  • Control spending and overtime within approved levels.
  • Resolve complaints (contractor, union, etc.) in a timely manner and in compliance with SOPs and applicable guidelines/regulations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of applicable policies (including SOPs), practices, and procedures as well as federal codes, rules and regulations, and process/subject matter expert
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Drafting, and GIS
  • Previous experience encountering new and varied work situations interacting with others both inside and outside the company (immediate associates, field engineers, vendors, and clients).
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Be comfortable working within a construction site on public and/or private property. Visual acuity, hearing, communication, manual dexterity, and repetitive motion.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in related role; minimum of 1-3 years demonstrated success in a leadership role.
  • Knowledge of GIS strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred; demonstrated related experience may be substituted for preferred education.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:

  • Travel approximately 60% to construction sites in Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas
  • Work will be outdoor and indoor environment.
  • Be prepared to walk around a construction site with uneven terrain and obstacles, must wear the proper safety gear at all times; hard hat, reflective vest, eye protection, steel toe boots.
  • Be able to lift and carry equipment and related cases in excess of 25 lbs.
  • Will require the use of tablet and computer.
