Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Contract Negotiator II for Research Contract Services Department within the Office for Research. As part of the Office for Research, the Contract Negotiator II works under the supervisory direction of the Research Contract Services Executive Director, Associate Director and senior staff to support the Office for and Rutgers research and clinical-related contracting efforts.

The Office for Research's mission is to support the research, scholarship, and creative endeavors of all Rutgers faculty. The Office accomplishes its mission by convening with academic and research leaders, providing integrated, user-focused resources, services, and tools, and partnering with faculty.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Contracts supported by the Contract Negotiator II include but are not limited to nondisclosure agreements, material transfer agreements, and other simple agreements with modest or no contract value.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and understanding of contract management and research administrative principles and practices.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in a research administrative function, excellent communication skills, and computer literacy.

  • Position requires a basic understanding of research-related contracts including data use agreements, material transfer agreements, and nondisclosure agreements, contract law and construction principles.
