STV is seeking an experienced attorney with a focus on contracting and claims handling of engineering, architectural and PM/CM matters.

As a Legal Counsel at STV, you will be the go-to commercial attorney for our project managers and corporate support groups. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring legal compliance and managing claims related to engineering, architectural, and PM/CM matters. You'll be the first point of contact and subject matter expert for your region, working closely with various teams to further STV's mission. Additionally, you'll support the Legal Team in alternative-delivery projects nationwide. You will report directly to the Senior Vice President, General Counsel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as one of the company's in-house attorneys for the day-to-day needs of STV's staff and projects.

  • Assess legal compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Identify and resolve a wide range of legal matters, including reviewing, analyzing, drafting, and negotiating contracts. This includes explaining contractual risks to non-attorneys in language relatable to them and in a way they can quickly understand.

  • Interface with the Legal Team as well as corporate and project teams on claims and litigation.

  • Responsible for using and improving STV's suite of documents for standard contracting opportunities.

Key Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Licensed and admitted to practice law in good standing, preferably in one or more of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, or Texas.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in-house, government, or with a law firm specializing in contracting, design, and/or construction management.

  • Experience analyzing and advising on a wide range of legal issues related to design and construction management.

  • Experience with defense of professional errors and omissions claims and actions.

  • Experience with regulatory compliance preferred.

  • Experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating design, construction management, and other commercial agreements.

  • Effective organizational, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.

Compensation Range:

$175,410.26 - $233,880.34
