The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are adding a Safety Program Manager to our growing team in Texas. This role will manage the McKinstry Safety Program and assigned safety
professionals at the business unit level, subject specific safety programs and associated data to ensure enterprise compliance. Additionally, some responsibilities you will have include:

Leadership and Team Management

  • Assist Business Units with development and execution of safety plans.
  • Sets Safety Training expectations for assigned Business Units.
  • Monitor and report on safety metrics to identify performance gaps and trends in safety performance through auditing and incident investigations.

Project/Field Support

  • Assists project teams with adherence to safety and loss control policies.
    • Develop site-specific safety plans, which applies McKinstry Safety Programs to the unique planning considerations for the project.
    • Execution of the site-specific safety plans.
    • Assist project teams with any lessons learned or safety program feedback by informing the responsible safety program manager.
  • Verifies that subcontractors are conducting work activities per OSHA standards.
  • Assist Field and Safety Program Specialists as appropriate.

Safety Program Support

  • Administer McKinstry Safety Program to reduce risk of injury and property loss or damage.
  • Assist Sr Safety Program Managers and Safety Program Directors with program reviews, audits, and updates as assigned.
  • Manage Safety Program Specialists and Field Safety Specialists as assigned.
  • Manage subject-specific safety programs as assigned.
  • Assist Business Units in the development of annual safety plans.
  • Ensure any gaps in safety programs are recorded for future improvement initiatives.

Other Administrative Actions

  • Conducts safety orientation for new employees.
  • Conducts safety investigations and report findings, corrective actions, and lessons learned.
  • Conducts safety meetings and publishes minutes.
  • Maintains safety records as needed.
  • Promotes safe work practices and conditions in accordance with local, state, and federal laws
  • Participates in Safety related McKinstry events.

Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

  • Must have demonstrated proficiency for all the responsibilities of a Safety Program Specialist.
  • Understanding of applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio required.
  • Three (3) years of experience with emphasis on construction and/or industrial safety preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in safety or related field preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification required or must be obtained within 6 months of assuming position.
  • Experience in Safety Management preferred. Working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.

The pay range for this position is $72,090 - $113,335 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
