Job Description
Ideal contractor would be a Design Engineer turned Project Manager or the other way around. OR a Project Manager that has a complete grasp on the design/engineering portion who will be coordinating with the engineering team and project planner. They will be required to be onsite until fully trained then MAY allow for one day remote if the program allows
Responsibilities



  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between program management, the planning team , and the engineering team/engineering management.

  • Works with program managers to understand scope of work and program priorities, including need dates and cost targets.

  • Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports, assesses project issues, and develops resolutions to meet program needs.

  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project mangers and engineering.

  • Develops BOEs for new work.

  • Tracks and analyzes performance metrics for work that is currently being executed.



Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related field) or Project Management.

  • Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CAPM, or equivalent) is a plus.:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in design engineering, with a strong understanding of engineering principles and practices.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management, preferably in a technical or engineering environment.

  • Proven track record of managing projects from inception to completion, including budget management, scheduling, and resource allocation.

  • Experience in coordinating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, planning, and program management.

  • Able to pass a 10-panel drug screening and background check

  • US Citizens or Persons ONLY

  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, MS Project, or similar).

  • Proficient in engineering design software and tools relevant to the industry (e.g., CAD software, simulation tools).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise between teams and stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess project issues and develop effective solutions.

  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations relevant to the engineering field.

  • Experience in developing Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for new work.

  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
