*Description*
JOB REQUIREMENTS *REMOTE but prefer local to Washington, D.C. area* Must have knowledge in the following technologies: - Citrix Desktop** -Citrix DaaS, Azure AVD and/or VMware Horizon, -PowerShell an/or Python scripting -Tools used for troubleshooting (PerfMon, Wireshark) -Windows server OS 2019/2022 Windows 11 and AD/Entra ID environments -FSLogix profile management, group policy management - Knowledge of app deployment - Leadership experience- overseeing team of 3-10 a.Responsibilities Core responsibilities include (but not limited) to the following: -Infrastructure Management: oManage multi-user and single-user session machine catalogs for different user groups oInstall and configure VDI software on servers oDeploy and virtualize applications oTest and validate VDI functionality before deployment oMonitor VDI server performance and resource utilization oTroubleshoot connectivity issues related to virtual desktops and engage external vendors for swift resolution oManage and troubleshoot user profiles oMigrate VDI workloads and upgrade master images used for catalogs oGenerate scripts and templates for automatic provisioning of resources -Virtual Desktop Image Management: oCreating and maintaining standardized virtual desktop images (gold images) oUpdating and patching virtual desktop images with latest security updates oManaging different virtual desktop templates and content libraries for various user groups and ensure that these templates/images are synchronized with external sites oCollaborate with stakeholders to assess VDI needs and improvements to image -User Access Control: oProvisioning and managing user access for virtual desktops and applications oAccess and permissions control oEnvironment lockdown through policies oUser profile management and validating profiles are in sync between sites -Security Management: oImplementing security policies and procedures for the VDI environment oMonitoring for security threats and vulnerabilities oVulnerability patch management of master images and static pools, ensuring compliance with security standards oManaging user access controls and data encryption oManage policies within the Citrix DaaS -Troubleshoot and Support: oWorks in tickets system to solve escalated issues oDiagnosing and resolving issues related to virtual desktop access and performance oProviding technical support to end-users and providing support for Tier 3 or Tier 2 groups -Documentation and Reporting: oAbility to compile network diagrams and flow charts oGenerating reports on VDI performance and usage metrics oMaintaining detailed documentation of VDI configuration and troubleshooting procedures oManage and Create KB (Knowledge Base) articles used by Tier 1, Tier 2 oProvides documentation, processes and technical training to Tier 1, Tier 2 admins -Change Management: oSubmitting Change Management request for deployment of changes on the environment b.Experience The ideal candidate would possess the following: -Minimum seven years of recent experience in VDI management -Accuracy and attention to details; must have organization skills -Customer service skills and a high level of professionalism -Strong written and oral communication skills and good judgment -Analytical and problem-solving skills preferred -Management of multi-user and single-user session machine catalogs for different user groups -Management and troubleshooting of user profiles -Migration of VDI workloads and upgrading master images used for catalogs -Vulnerability patch management of master images and static pools, ensuring compliance with security standards -Ability to support various database platforms and learn new technologies as needed -Ability to compile network diagrams and flow charts -Enjoys a fast paced environment -Demonstrated hands-on experience of progressive experience in desktop or server engineering -Experience with cloud infrastructure resource management -Experience with cloud security best practices c.Skills In addition to the knowledge and hands-on experience with managing and configuring VMware and Citrix VDI environments, the position requires hands-on experience in the following areas as they relate to VDI platform management: -Azure Cloud Infrastructure (firewalls, networking, policies) -PowerShell scripting -Group Policy Objects -Windows (10, 11) OS and Windows Servers OS 2019 and 2022 -Imaging process (SCCM/Intune) -Virtualization platforms (VMWare, Hyper-V) -Software distribution platform (SCCM) -Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols d.Education -Advanced university degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field of study or equivalent, plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience; Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
