Position Overview

The Athletics Manager is responsible for the daily activities of UNT Dallas Athletics, the general manager handles all of the team's contracts, players and coaches. He or she sometimes serves as the team's spokesperson for media briefings, community events, and philanthropic outreach. The Manager is also in charge of the team's finances and marketing.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, Athletic Administration; and 3 years of experience in athletic administration, sports management, or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Experience in contract negotiation and sports management.
  • Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Ability to build relationships with sponsors, donors, and community stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of NAIA compliance, Title IX regulations, and athletics administration.
  • Excellent communication, public speaking, and event coordination abilities.

Job Duties:



  • Support for Athletic Leadership: Assist the Athletic Director and Head Coaches with community relations, fundraising efforts, securing sponsorships, and organizing game day guarantees.
  • Engagement and Outreach: Actively engage with UNT Dallas students, faculty, and staff to increase awareness, visibility, and involvement in the UNTD Athletics program. Cultivate a strong connection between athletics and the campus community.
  • Game Day Operations: Oversee the logistics of game day operations and facility rentals, including coordination of staff, facilities, travel and transportation arrangements, and any other operational needs.
  • Compliance Oversight: Collaborate with the Chief Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to NAIA regulations, FERPA, Title IX, and other relevant policies, ensuring that all athletics-related activities meet legal and ethical standards.
  • Procurement Management: Manage the procurement process for athletic supplies, equipment, uniforms, and other resources necessary for the program's smooth operation.
  • Budget Oversight: Work closely with the Finance department to develop, manage, and track budgets for all athletic programs.
  • Event Planning and Logistics: Assist with the coordination of special events such as team banquets, fundraisers, community outreach programs, etc.

30 hours per week Flexible to include Nights and Weekends.
