Description

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Waste Management Service Center Professional to work with our Project & Program Support team. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our REC location in Idaho Falls with every other Friday off.

You will be responsible for strategy and planning to align laboratory operations with the directorate's mission and goals. You will identify and prioritize improvement opportunities and create plans for implementation. Develop complex forecasting models, budgets, and plans for projects. Utilize comprehensive knowledge of the laboratory's internal operations to develop a forward-looking focus for the waste management program. Additionally, you will be responsible for overseeing the waste management program service center budget development and control accounts, which total over $4.5M, annually. You will report to the manager for our Project & Program Support Division.

Responsibilities Include:



  • Apply business and project coordination principles to focus the division on the sustainment and growth of INL programs and other customers.
  • Apply company policies and procedures to determine the appropriate action required to resolve a variety of issues associated with supporting day-to-day activities related to assigned programs.
  • Support technical projects and apply analytical capabilities in support of the area of expertise, including developing, proposals for new work areas, providing strategies for resolution, creating program instruction guides, and interviewing project partners to determine project focus areas.
  • Integrate a broad understanding of business and mission priorities and principles to optimally influence and achieve the required outcomes of significant importance to the Directorate and Laboratory.
  • Conduct research, analysis, and coordinate implementation of systems and process improvements to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance across the Directorate.
  • Annual budget planning and work scoping with waste generators and facility management personnel, weekly and monthly cost tracking, providing monthly accruals and status, and providing monthly estimate at completions values for all control accounts.
  • Develop Basis of Estimates by working with waste generators to determine projected waste management costs for future projects.
  • Develop knowledge and expertise to lead the team that develops and manages the Environmental Liabilities list, which is updated and provided to DOE on an annual basis.
  • Develop professional expertise in order to achieve a complete understanding of the principles, theories, and concepts associated with the technical aspects of radioactive and hazardous waste management.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:



  • Level 1: Bachelor's degree in a technical or business background, specifics outlined below.
  • Level 2: Bachelor's degree in a technical or business background, specifics outlined below, and at least two years' direct experience.
  • Degrees that may be considered include: chemistry, physics, environmental science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, environmental engineering, industrial engineering, waste management, or nuclear engineering with a business background/minor or other related fields.
  • OR candidates with a business degree, such as business administration, accounting, finance, marketing, or management degree (operations, business, project, or industrial management) with a technical background, or other related fields.
  • Ideal candidates will have a technical degree with a business minor or MBA, and technical experience in nuclear programs or nuclear facility operations.


Job Information:



  • The pay range for this position is: Level 1 ($56,196 - $109,644) / Level 2 ($65,064 - $133416). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
  • Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.
