Position Overview

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an Environmental Compliance Program Manager to join our dynamic Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) consulting practice. This role will support our expanding operations in the Pacific Northwest, where you will play a key part in managing one of EAs largest regional clients with multiple project sites across several states.

Responsibilities

  • Program & Project Management: Lead and oversee environmental compliance initiatives, ensuring program success and client satisfaction.
  • Senior Technical Resource: Provide expert guidance on areas such as industrial stormwater, municipal stormwater, SPCC, waste management, and wastewater operations.
  • Client Interaction: Act as the primary point of contact with clients, building and nurturing strong client relationships.
  • Environmental Compliance Reports: Lead the preparation and completion of environmental compliance reports and plans (e.g., SPCC plans, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans, discharge monitoring reports).
  • Mentorship & Staff Development: Guide and mentor junior and mid-career staff on environmental compliance tasks such as:


    • Inspecting and sampling stormwater discharges and other regulated areas.
    • Conducting inspections of aboveground storage tanks and industrial sites.
    • Assisting with waste management and disposal practices.
    • Developing and delivering environmental training (e.g., SPCC, stormwater, waste management).
    • Collaborating on regulatory compliance audits and assessments.
    • Contributing to corrective action plans and updating compliance documentation.


  • Business Development: Identify new business opportunities, develop strategies to expand client portfolios, and lead responses to RFPs (Requests for Proposals) and RFQs (Requests for Qualifications).
  • Sustainability & Climate Action: Support clients in achieving sustainability goals, climate action, and resiliency planning.
  • Regulatory Analysis & Reporting: Conduct regulatory applicability analyses and prepare project reports.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of professional experience in environmental compliance and EHS-related roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Hands-on experience conducting environmental compliance inspections, sampling, and audits.
  • Proven track record in project management and developing compliance programs, including SOPs, training, and guidance materials.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, with program management experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and supervise early to mid-level professionals.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with a history of maintaining and expanding client portfolios.
  • Experience preparing competitive proposals, budgets, and project scopes for new business opportunities.


Note: This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.


Drug Screen Statement

Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen.

Pay Range

$120,000 - $160,000 USD

The EA pay range for this position is intended as a general guideline and does not guarantee specific compensation or salary. Factors considered when making an offer include job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, alignment with market data, and compliance with federal and state laws.
