Summary: Responsible for managing and coordinating the operations of the surgical pathology department by overseeing various administrative tasks related to pathology services, laboratory operations, and team coordination.
Does this position require Patient Care? No Essential Functions: Provide leadership and coordination for the surgical pathology department. -Oversee the daily workflow of surgical pathology processes, including the accessioning, grossing, processing, and reporting of surgical specimens. -Implement and maintain quality assurance measures to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and accreditation standards, such as CAP (College of American Pathologists) or CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments). -Manage the inventory of pathology supplies, reagents, and equipment. -Oversee the maintenance of pathology databases and electronic health records systems related to surgical specimens. -Provide supervision and guidance to pathology support staff, including histotechnologists, pathology assistants, and administrative personnel. -Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and accreditation requirements governing surgical pathology services.
