Acara Solutions is seeking a PCB Rework Technician to join our client on a Temp to Hire opportunity located in Palo Alto CA
Pay rate range is $35.00 - $45.00 / hour.
We are seeking a skilled Electronic Technician to build, rework, and maintain repairs on PCBAs, as well as install instrumentation and harnessing. Assisting with board component setup, debugging, and collaborating closely with the Electrical Engineering team on equipment design, sourcing, assembly, and creation.
  • PCBA rework, mechanical fabrication, electrical wiring (high and low voltage), and custom instrumentation setup (e.g., voltage, current, temperature, flow rate)
  • Use soldering iron, tweezers, hot air, preheaters, hot plates, hand tools, and power tools to populate, test, and repair prototype PCBAs (through hole, SMD, down to 0402 and 0201 size) under a microscope.
  • Read and comprehend electronic schematics, working from written or verbal instructions, often with minimal formal documentation.
  • Utilize test equipment like oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, power supplies, and other EE lab instruments.
  • Troubleshoot systems using documentation, instrumentation, and input from multiple engineering teams.
  • Fabricate cable harnesses, using various sleeving, wire, cable, and connector types, with crimp tools and techniques.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • 3 yrs. minimum experience with PCBA rework, mechanical fabrication, electrical wiring (high and low voltage), and custom instrumentation setup (e.g., voltage, current, temperature, flow rate)
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • IPC certification preferred.
  • Strong mechanical fabrication and electrical prototyping skills (soldering, wire harness fabrication, harness diagrams).
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills at the board component level.
  • Safety-oriented, with a strong commitment to following all safety policies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and adaptability.
  • Experience with Python, Linux-based operating systems, LabVIEW, Modbus communication, CAN communication, and basic networking is a plus.
