Genesis10 is seeking a Test Lead for a contract with our client for a hybrid role (3 days per week in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in Minneapolis, MN. ocation: Preferred location would be Minneapolis, however, there is not a lot of preference on MN or CO. If Remote Monday and Friday. Job Description: Responsible for evaluating and testing software for completeness, quality, correctness and security. Develops test plans and test cases. Develops automated tests. Performs manual and automated tests for software functionality, installation, and usability. Defines and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts. Manages bugs and error tracking. Documents and presents test results to management. Coordinates and prioritizes testing of application modifications and bug fixes. Works with multiple development teams and software projects. Replacing an old legacy system used for end-user fieldwork, GIS mapping, and data asset coordination. Deliverables and Responsibilities: Testing Phase Leadership: Own the entire testing phase once the design and implementation phases are complete. Act as the leader for unit/component testing, system integration testing (SIT), and user acceptance testing (UAT) phases. Test Planning and Execution: Build comprehensive test plans. Engage with business users and project teams to write test cases. Develop and manage the testing schedule. Drive the execution of the test plan, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and tasks are completed on time. Communication and Coordination: Report to the Project Manager (PM). Communicate effectively with business unit partners, project partners, and other stakeholders. Take initiative to address issues and ensure smooth testing processes. Quality Assurance (QA): Leverage a solid QA testing background, ideally in large corporate environments with software integrations. Ensure thorough testing of software integrations, especially in environments with legacy systems. Methodology: Experience with waterfall methodology is preferred, as the projects primarily use this approach for upgrading and replacing legacy systems. Required Skills/Experience: Testing Experience: 7-9 years of testing experience, with several years in a test lead role within a large, matrixed organization/environment. Experience with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software, including new software deployments and upgrades to existing software. Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to command the room and lead testing phases effectively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an extroverted personality that facilitates engagement with team members and stakeholders. Software Integration and Methodology: Experience with software integration, particularly in large corporate environments. Familiarity with both waterfall and agile methodologies, with a preference for Waterfall Quality Assurance (QA) Background: Solid QA testing background, ideally in large corporate environments with extensive software integrations. Ability to develop comprehensive test plans, engage with business users, and drive the execution of testing phases. Experience with Confluence, JIRA and test/scripting tools such as Python, etc. would also be helpful. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to take initiative and lead testing efforts. Experience in large corporate environments with software integrations. Desired Skills/Experience: Experience with a test tracking software package is desired. Utility industry background would be great, however, not required
