What you'll do

  • Indirect Rate Allocation: Support the preparation of indirect rates for various allocations, assessments, and validations within accounting system. Assist in the monitoring and analyzing direct and indirect costs allocations for intercompany and segment level overheads. Ensure accurate cost allocation and tracking. Prepare regular cost reports including cost analysis by job, customer, segment, etc.
  • Month-End Closing: Support the month-end and year-end closing processes by ensuring all cost-related transactions are accurately recorded and reported in a timely manner. Prepare supporting schedules for journal entries.
  • Cost Reduction Initiatives: Collaborate with the operations and production teams to identify areas of improvement in manufacturing processes and recommend cost-reduction strategies.
  • Compliance & Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Help maintain strong internal controls for cost tracking and reporting processes.

The day-to-day

  • Post journal entries for month and quarter end close
  • Useing excel and/or Power BI generate reports and collarborate with various departments and business areas to asses cost variances and trend analysis.
  • Generate cost and other reports for management
  • Analyze cost variations and provide recommendations
  • Research FAR/CAS and other regulations to support
  • Assist in preparing training on various corporate accounting policies and procedures
  • Support external and internal auditors by gathering and explaining documentation.

What you'll need

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, or related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or operations
  • 2 or more years of experience in Cost Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Supply Chain, Operations, or Estimating & Pricing
  • Solid skills with MS Excel to include V-look ups, Formulas, Pivot Tables, SUMIF conditional formatting is mandatory as well as proficiency in financial modeling

  • Communication skills - comfortable with various modes like Slack, Phone, Zoom, text, etc.
  • Time management skills - able to deal with multiple and shifting priorities
  • Problem solver - able to brainstorm potential solutions, evaluate options, and implement the best course of action to effectively resolve a challenge

Salary range

$90,500.00 - $143,000.00 / annually.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $112,500.00- $168,500.00/ annually
