Summary

Contribute to the profitability, continuity and growth of Hollister through a focus on managing process changes, the execution of capital projects including the purchase of new equipment and providing production support compatible with Hollister's Mission and Vision.

Responsibilities

Project Management





    • Manage process change projects through the Change Control (CC) process. Work closely with Quality Engineers to ensure products meet established quality standards, and processes meet established regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO, OSHA).
    • Manage capital projects using standard project management techniques. Request capital using the Authorization For Expenditure (AFE) process to purchase custom as well as commercially available equipment from a variety of suppliers.




Process Improvement





    • Reduce production costs through cycle time reduction, scrap reduction, downtime reduction, and automation. Provide justification based on SAP data and GAAP.
    • Reduce potential for injury through safety guarding, safety reviews, and ergonomic considerations.
    • Work with maintenance personnel and operators where applicable to determine root cause of production problems. Develop means to reduce or eliminate root causes.




Maintenance Support





    • Work closely with maintenance personnel to troubleshoot machine failures.
    • Provide training and mentoring to broaden maintenance personnel's skills.
    • Reduce machine downtime and inventory carrying costs using reliability centered maintenance.




Communication





    • Provide periodic status updates on projects to management, project stakeholders, and production teams. This includes meetings, e-mail, teleconference, and PowerPoint presentations.
    • Interact with internal support groups (Facilities, IT, Lab, NPC, etc.) and external suppliers (machine shops, equipment suppliers) in the execution of projects.





Responsible for achieving competency in all identified skill requirements outlined in associated training profile for position.

  • Frequent movement over large manufacturing floor areas

  • Flexible work schedule with varying start/stop times across all shifts as needed



Work Experience Requirements




  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience with Bachelor's Degree or


(or)



  • Associate's Degree/Technical Certification with 8 years relevant experience.



Education Requirements

*Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred

*Associate's Degree or Technical certification required

Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge




  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with FDA & ISO regulations, Lean/Six Sigma desirable
  • CAD Skills, utilization of 2D & 3D modeling software with ability to create drawings desired
  • Understand Industrial Controls and relevant software regarding Machine Controls
  • Experience with electro-mechanical maintenance of assembly and/or continuous process manufacturing equipment utilizing robotics, preferably in a web/film handling or converting operation desired
  • Heat sealing technology background a plus
  • Pneumatics knowledge
  • Vision system knowledge
  • Proficiency in use of measuring instruments and hand tools
  • Ability to communicate and model coaching skills and other team-based behaviors

This role has a salary range of $68,000-$106,000 depending on qualificationsand experience.
