Job Summary

As a participant in the Sorenson Internship Opportunity Program you will leverage your training and certification as part of a working team. You will do work that is critical to the success of the organization. A manager will guide, mentor and teach you some of the critical elements of your chosen career pathway. You will establish learning objectives that you will pursue as part of your work at Sorenson.

Experience/Education/Additional Info

Education: Certifications, Technical College, Trade School or currently attending college or recently graduated.



  • Eligible students enrolled in an accredited law school (preferred)


Duration: 3 - 6 months

Office Environment: 100% Remote

Pay: Between $20.00 - $35.00 per hour (Based on Experience, Education, & Location)

Position Summary:

Legal interns assist the Sorenson Legal Department in the following areas:



  • Commercial transactions and contract review
  • Regulatory and Compliance
  • Labor and Employment Law
  • Data Privacy and Security
  • Business counsel and advice to internal clients



Responsibilities:

Legal interns gain meaningful experience by:



  • Conducting legal research, analyzing and summarizing legal documents, such as contracts, regulations, and providing recommendations to attorneys and legal personnel
  • Drafting legal memoranda, agreements, contracts, and correspondence
  • Attending and assisting attorneys in preparation for meetings with internal and external business partners and legal proceedings
  • Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed or directed



Qualifications:



  • Good organizational, communication, and presentation skills
  • Good writing and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Able to work independently and with cross-functional teams
