Job Summary

As a participant in the Sorenson Internship Opportunity Program you will leverage your training and certification as part of a working team. Your responsibilities will include the development and implementation of AI algorithms, models, and software for advanced applications in automatic sign language translation, as well as the research of innovative methods and the creation of new services. You will do work that is critical to the success of the organization. A manager will guide, mentor, and teach you some of the critical elements of your chosen career pathway.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Research, design, develop, and productize AI technology for new markets.
  • Develop, train, validate, and deploy deep learning models.
  • Stay up to date on current technologies and research in the field.
  • Develop data management, processing, and analysis strategies for improving models.
  • Collaborate with other team members on special projects that involve multiple areas of expertise.
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned.



Supervisory Responsibility



  • This position does not manage employees.



Travel Requirements



  • Travel Requirements: Less than 25%



Education



  • Minimum: Upper-level BA/BS or MS/MA Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar degree



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Experience in data science, Machine Learning and AI.
  • Experience in Python and ML tools such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Strong software and data science skills.
  • Experience with LLMs and training end-to-end models a plus.
  • Experience with AWS and computer vision is a plus .
  • Experience with classification, estimation, and language translation is a plus.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English.
  • American Sign Language (ASL) fluency preferred.



Working Conditions and Physical Requirements



  • Punctual and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand at a desk and work with a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Positive attitude, team player, good interpersonal communication skills and able to work across company departments.
