Reingold's Internship Program
A Reingold intern has high standards and a fearless mindset. Our interns are energetic, innovative, take initiative, and demonstrate professionalism in everything they do. This internship program is your opportunity to discover what it really means to work for a full-service communications agency. You'll learn the ins and outs of your department, work as a valued member of project teams, and collaborate with experts in various departments. Reingold offers you opportunities to tailor the internship experience to your interests and strengths - all while working on causes that really matter.

Internships are full time (40 hours) during the standard workweek and pay an hourly rate of $20, hourly. The internship class begins on Thursday, June 5, and runs through Friday, November 21. Core hours during the internship are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern time. This internship requires five in-office days (Monday - Friday) at our main office in Alexandria, Virginia or in our satellite office in Raleigh, North Carolina.

What It Means to be a Reingold DevOps Intern
Do you love automating tasks and optimizing workflows? Are you curious about how code moves from development to production seamlessly? Do you hear "DevOps" and think CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and containerization? If so, Reingold may be the place for you!

Intern responsibilities may include:
  • Assisting in the automation of deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management.
  • Maintaining process flow and documentation while following written specifications and guidelines.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to improve CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
  • Monitoring system performance, identifying issues, and proposing solutions to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Performing ad hoc tasks depending on your skills and our needs.

We're looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
  • Formal training in computer science, information technology, DevOps, or related field through a college program or an immersive professional training program.
  • Basic knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Experience with or familiarity using Linux, including navigating the command line and managing files/processes
  • Ability to use version control systems like Git and collaborate in a team development environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a curiosity for optimizing and automating processes.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to consult and collaborate with developers, engineers, project managers, senior managers and clients.
  • Curious, problem-solving attitude.

Not Required, But Nice to Have:
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of basic system administration tasks and concepts such as user permissions, package management, and shell scripting. Comfort with distributions like RedHat, Amazon Linux, Fedora, or CentOS is a plus.
