As a Senior Event Manager at Saint Kate - The Arts Hotel, you'll orchestrate every detail of meetings and social events, ensuring seamless coordination between clients, the banquet team, and hotel management. Your role will be pivotal in delivering exceptional experiences by communicating promptly and precisely, turning plans into flawlessly executed events.

With a prime location in Milwaukee's Theater District, Saint Kate serves as a creative hub for the city, where every aspect of the hotel is inspired by music, painting, sculpture, and design. As a part of Marcus Hotels & Resorts, we engage a diverse audience of theater enthusiasts, food connoisseurs, and entertainment seekers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Meet and greet clients, conduct property tours and promote facilities and services. Answer customer inquiries.

* Develop client menus, write contracts and letters, as well as organize other arrangements as they relate to social and corporate events.

* Supervise and attend the overall set up and implementation of events and meetings. Communicate with relevant departments to ensure proper servicing of accounts.

* Prepare and present weekly and monthly sales reports.

* Regular attendance at all catering meetings and attendance when required at Food and Beverage Meetings and Department Head meetings.

* Attend various community, social, and business events.

* Intimately know our competitive set.

* Understands all meeting sets and functions as related to meeting space, and guides the team on effectively working with clients on utilizing function space.

* Assist in tracking revenue produced to help set team goals and distribute workloads evenly

* Act with the Director of Events in assigning workloads, tracking and forecasting revenue, and ensuring high level events.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

MANDATORY JOB REQUIREMENTS:

* Thorough knowledge of service flow and capabilities in all revenue areas.

* Effective and professional written and verbal communication with internal and external guests.

* Ability to effectively network and market our property.

* Plan and conduct pre and post convention meetings with clients and respective departments.

* Document tracking of group activity. Access and input data into a computer system to generate account history reports.

* Establish rapport with and entertain meeting planners while promoting hotel facilities and services. Conduct walking site inspections throughout the property.

* Able to work independently.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

* Ensure guest satisfaction by timely follow up correspondence.

* Adhere and support hotel and corporate policy and procedures.

* Maintain accurate administrative files.

* Be to work every day on time.

* Detail all events that the manager is assigned.

* Keep abreast of current market trends.

* Participate in the MOD program.

* Maintain a high level of professional appearance, demeanor and image of self and hotel.

* Support and monitor cleanliness and safety issues when touring the hotel.

* Be sales and profit minded.

* Stay through the second course of any food function.

EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING REQUIRED:

* Able to use Microsoft Word and Excel.

* Strong multiple - project management skills.

* Good communication skills

* Ability to read, write and speak the English language fluently to interact with clients.

* Ability to analyze client needs and negotiate pricing.

* Ability to work under time pressures and extensive hours.

* Minimum of six months hotel experience, operational food and beverage experience preferred.

LICENSE OF CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

* Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school

* College degree preferred.

MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

* Pass on incoming information and messages to clients when in-house.

* Assist in other departments as directed by management.
