HOW YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Science Officer is responsible for providing strategic leadership in defining and supporting ETR's value "Science is Foundational" across the agency; promoting an ongoing focus on scientific standards and practices across the agency; and engaging in agency business development. As a member of the Leadership Team, the Chief Science Officer facilitates communication, synergistic opportunities, and efficient use of resources across ETR to best accomplish the agency's mission and business plans. This is a remote position with an estimated 25% of work time spent traveling (an average of one week per month). CULTURAL ATTRIBUTES

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- Doctoral degree in behavioral or social sciences.
- At least 5 years of experience working at an executive leadership level within an organization with an annual budget that exceeds $10M.
- Seven or more years of managerial experience in public, for-profit, or not-for-profit organizations.
- Ten or more years of professional experience in the health field, with demonstrated experience in one or more of ETR's core content areas of school health, sexual health, tobacco/nicotine, and HIV.
- Strong record of successful financial oversight and sound business judgment.
- Appreciation for and commitment to the mission of ETR.
- Experience supervising high-level personnel.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, writing, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to define, communicate, and implement forward-looking visions for ETR.
- Experience, knowledge, skills, and competence working to meet the needs of diverse communities.
- Familiarity with federal and state public health issues and policies.
- Exceptional leadership, human relations, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate staff.
- Ability to advocate on behalf of ETR's interests on a local, state and national level to foster recognition and support for ETR.
- Ability to solve problems and facilitate problem-solving.
- Willingness to travel, estimated 25% of time.
- Proof of auto insurance and valid driver's license.
Location: Remote - United States Starting Pay Range: $210,400- $257,180 annually. The typical hiring range for this position is $210,400 - $233,800 at 100% FTE.
