Postdoctoral Associate - Proteomics

Description & Requirements The Proteomics Group (Carr/Udeshi Lab) at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard is looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral associate to develop and apply state-of-the art mass spectrometry-based proteomics technology to address compelling questions in biology, chemistry and clinical medicine in a highly collaborative setting with groups in the greater Broad scientific community and beyond. The specific research areas of immediate interest that this scientist could drive include: * Proteogenomic studies of a wide range of cancers. * Detailed studies of cellular signaling networks related to protein phosphorylation, ubiquitylation or acetylation. * Chemical proteomics technologies such as thermal profiling and cell surface proteomics * Developing biological understanding of response and resistance to therapy
Qualifications Candidates must have: * An Ph.D. Or MD, PhD in areas such as analytical chemistry, molecular biology, biology, * Excellent scientific productivity, evidenced by high-quality research publications in peer- * Track record of conducting independent and creative research * Analytical aptitude for devising innovative scientific or technical solutions * Excellent verbal and written communication skills Hands-on skills and knowledge in one or more of the following areas would be considered an advantage: * State-of-the-art mass spectrometry-based proteomics * Expertise in statistical and/or computational analysis of large-scale proteomic or genomic data * Analysis of cell signaling pathways/networks * Cell biology/ biochemical methods to understand protein function * Domain expertise in a disease area such as cancer, metabolic or infectious disease |
