The Sr Specialist - Development Franchise Recruiting supports the Wendy's brand growth plan by driving the day-to-day management, oversees the administration, and coordination of all franchise related matters for US franchise recruiting. They act as a Wendy's Brand Ambassador and liaison, managing all sales, marketing and communication required to support and engage new franchise candidates. The Sr Specialist partners with internal development teams to drive new unit growth and facilitate franchise transactions through the vetting of new franchise applicants in both the traditional and non-traditional arenas. They will travel to industry conferences and recruiting assessments. The Senior Specialist will facilitate interview processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective franchise recruitment by maintaining an efficient pipeline including Discovery Day, maintaining consolidated recruiting and project pipeline reporting, and optimize the recruitment practices.

Responsibilities
  • FRANCHISE RECRUITING: Supports Director and Business Development & Recruiting team to execute new franchise recruiting programs and leads the recruiting processes for the recruitment, selection, and placement of new franchisees for all candidates in the U.S. Partnering with Leaders across the Restaurant Support Center, US Company Development, Operations and Field teams, Franchise Management/SO, Legal, and Division leaders to schedule meetings, facilitate onboarding process, gather feedback, and assess candidate performance. Travels to markets for candidate assessments when needed, attend business presentation, OJE scores discussions, participate in calibration calls and establishes and converts leads into new franchisees.
    • Establishes agenda and program for 3 Discovery Days/year including securing the short-list of franchise candidates to attend. Prepares presentations and materials required for Discovery Day and internal/external meetings.
  • PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND RECRUITMENT PROGRAM COORDINATION: Drives project management (phases 1 - 6) across all candidates in U.S. markets to ensure timely execution of key milestone meetings and events established to deliver franchise recruiting goals and targets by working with Real Estate and Strategic Development & Analysis, and GIS teams to execute on Build-to-Suit/REPP Programs and POD Development Strategy. Weekly recruiting pipeline reviews with Specialist. Aligning Pod development timelines and FZ Candidate introductions. Coordinates with Real Estate on POD communication with existing franchisees to prioritize targeted franchising efforts. Partners with Franchise Management to grant franchise rights and onboarding plans.
  • INDUSTRY RELATIONS: Acts as a Wendy's Brand Ambassador and liaison for Franchise Recruiting and Development by engaging 3rd party strategic relationships and facilitating relationships with franchise recruiting consultants, industry organizations like IFA and Franchise Times. Actively engages with 3rd party Lenders, Brokers, Developers, U.S./State commerce agencies, Chambers, local business associations, etc. to drive lead generation and support candidate vetting. Travels to attend franchise recruiting meetings, industry conferences and networking events to establish relationships and leverage key resources across the financial, broker and development community that can help to identify new franchisee leads. Prepares presentations and communications required to support brand engagement in key industry events including US Lenders Day and Investors Day.
  • POLICIES & PROGRAMS: Partners with Director to identify opportunities for refinement and evolution of U.S. franchise recruiting processes and recruiting tools as needed and to apply best practices in the industry and improve the overall efficiency. Providing reporting on all recruiting updates, attending conferences, assisting with lead generation vendors. Partners with Franchise Legal and Company Development to support the updates of Wendy's franchise recruiting and transaction policies and procedures, onboarding of new franchisees, and to update and evolve important information provided in the FDD (annual March filings or amendments), earnings releases or other Company communications that may impact franchise candidates. Partners with Franchise Development, Franchise Management and Finance leaders to help educate franchise lending partners on company initiatives to drive franchise recruiting efforts to support company growth initiatives.


What we expect from you
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field is preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years of professional work experience preferably in a corporate environment with an emphasis in franchising, recruiting/sales, new restaurant development, strategic development and/or restaurant operations.
  • Knowledge of franchising and new restaurant development related policies and procedures. Knowledge of law (real estate, franchise, contract, business), real estate and financial management/accounting.
  • Experience engaging with internal and external business partners daily with a track record of successfully driving collaboration cross-functionally to achieve results. Must be a self-starter, proactive, and have strong people effectiveness capabilities.
  • Strong written & verbal communication as well as organizational skills to effectively influence others, drive prioritization, and make decisions in a timely manner.
  • Experience managing up and influencing functional leaders and teams, and a demonstrated track record of providing excellent service to external business partners and customers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

The base pay range for this position is listed below. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position. *The target annual bonus for this role is 10% of annualized base salary, based on actual company and personal performance.
