Job Summary: The Solutions Engineer will be responsible for providing direct customer support, including but not limited to managing new product introduction, advanced system integration, legacy product support and technical problem solving in support of Sales. Additionally, the Position will fill the role of Customer technical advocate to the Company's engineering organization. Responsibilities:
- A record of success in developing test processes and tools and performing system integration with multiple platforms and multiple vendors.
- Provide a remarkable client experience, with the ability to be effective when working with engineers through C suite customers
- Demonstrated ability to take a process-oriented approach to problem solving
- Lead by example. Identify current or potential problems, take ownership and see them through to resolution
- Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
- Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
- Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on currently deployed platforms, systems and processes
- Understanding of layer 1/2 optical networking protocols such as Ethernet, OTN, Fibre Channel, CPRI, and PON.
- Proficiency with optical test gear such as OSA, BER Test Sets, VOAs, and Power Meters.
Education & Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in computer, electrical, or telecommunications engineering or relevant experience
- Experience with optical routing, switching, and/or transport networking gear required
- In depth experience with Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, or equivalent networking gear a plus
