Description Construction Operations Manager Reports to JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective The operations manager position manages local scheduling and real-time operations of non-revenue generating construction operations that include field personnel, purchasing, fabrication, and equipment which facilitates the maximization of resources (human and automated) to achieve customer satisfaction, productivity, schedule adherence and economic goals. This position has direct reports and is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating their activities. Supervisory Responsibility This position manages all field employees of the department and is responsible for leadership, performance management and hiring of the employees within its department. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary. There will be times when you will be required to work the yard/shop setting where you would need the ability to negotiate travel around heavy equipment, ladders, shelving, fabrication machinery, fork lifts, etc. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Travel Travel is primarily locally during the business day, although some out of the area travel and overnight may be expected. Requirements Required Education and Experience 1. Bachelor's degree in construction, operations management, business management or equivalent and 5-7 years' previous operations management experience, including forecasting, scheduling and real-time operations management. 2. Extensive experience in and advanced knowledge of the construction industry, specifically, HVAC and Plumbing. 3. Experience supervising, coaching and developing staff. 4. OSHA 30 Training. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Relevant training certifications in industry topics helpful. Work Authorization/Security Clearance Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background test.
