Summary: Barr's Environmental Management team is looking for an engineer with at least 1-3 years of post-collegiate professional experience to join our Salt Lake City office. The person selected for this position will undertake diverse, fast-paced, challenging work providing environmental support to fuels, mining, manufacturing, and power clients. A successful candidate for this position will have strong problem-solving and communication skills and the drive to combine their technical background with regulatory frameworks. They are also intrinsically motivated, with an emphasis on client service, and interested in growing their careers in environmental consulting. In this position, you will develop solutions that allow clients to maintain optimal flexibility and profitability while complying with regulatory requirements related to air, water, and waste. The technical expertise you gathered from your degree and previous experience will be used to understand our clients' processes in relation to the applicable environmental permits, rules, and regulations. A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is based out of Barr's Salt Lake City, Utah, office. Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $75,000-85,000 per year. This position is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Compensation will vary based on relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus based on team and individual performance.Barr has a "no retained earnings" model and distributes all its profit to our employees through our bonus plan and ESOP. Note: Applicants must be able to work in locations that feature rough terrain typical of construction sites and to enter and work in facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, high temperature and pressure process equipment, and other conditions typical of large industrial facilities. Job assignments may involve work on waste disposal sites and sites requiring cleanup of hazardous materials.
