About the Role Culmen International is looking for Project Analysts for an upcoming Department of Justice opportunity supporting the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces Program. The Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) Program was established in 1982 as a collaborative national initiative involving multiple agencies. Its primary aim is to conduct thorough, intelligence-driven investigations into significant criminal organizations engaged in drug trafficking and the laundering of illicit proceeds. The OCDETF Program serves as a cornerstone of the Department of Justice's counternarcotics strategy, utilizing prosecutor-led, multi-agency task forces to address the challenges posed by prominent drug cartels. The overarching mission of the OCDETF Program is to reduce the availability of illegal drugs within the United States while also mitigating the violence and other criminal activities that frequently accompany the drug trade. What You'll Do in Your New Role The Project Analyst employs a variety of software applications to effectively gather and report on important data elements related to criminal drug activity and the operational achievements of the OCDETF. This includes monitoring cases filed, defendants charged and convicted, trial outcomes, sentencing details, monetary penalties, and the estimated impacts on illegal drug activity due to enforcement efforts.
Develops standardized data collection forms to streamline and enhance the data gathering process. Evaluates new software applications to improve the efficiency and functionality of case tracking and reporting activities. Transforms data for integration into databases, spreadsheets, and graphical presentation programs, while also creating comprehensive output reports, summary tables, graphs, and charts.
Undertakes special studies, research, and evaluation activities to provide valuable insights to management. Designs and crafts PowerPoint presentations and graphics tailored for managerial needs.
Acts as a technical resource on federal, state, and local crime and caseload statistics, as well as other criminal justice data and policy issues. Offers support to senior analysts with expertise in quantitative analysis and research methodologies for ongoing studies, data evaluations, and program assessments. Analyzes and interprets data to highlight key findings and trends using statistical software programs such as SAS, SPSS, Microsoft Access, and Excel.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree and 8 years' experience OR Masters Degree and 6 years of experience utilizing various types of software, such as Government-developed software, Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
