Responsibilities
Job Description: We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with extensive experience and expertise in data architecture and system engineering. The Data Engineer will be responsible for standardizing, formatting, and cleaning specific datasets from the point of collection to ingestion through our data architecture, supporting command and mission partners. This role demands a highly adaptable individual capable of thriving in dynamic and complex environments while leveraging hands-on experience across mission systems, programming, and network-enabled technologies. Hybrid Position supporting Ft. Bragg, Fayetteville, NC. Job Duties Include (but not limited to):
Provide data and architectural expertise to ensure the proper standardization, formatting, and cleaning of data sets.
- Support data ingestion into command and mission partner systems through data architecture.
- Implement and manage distributed messaging systems like Redis, Kafka, or SQS.
- Administer application servers, web servers, and provide system engineering support across heterogeneous environments.
- Improve security, usability, performance, maintainability, and scalability of existing environments by introducing innovative services.
- Provide system design and integration support for local and wide area network architectures.
- Support and enhance dataflow systems and develop resilient web-based applications for remote users.
- Ensure compliance through system O&M, patching, and IAVA adherence.
- Collaborate with external engineers for integration into government networks.
- Conduct system testing, performance evaluations, and technical documentation to ensure solutions meet customer specifications.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of data engineering, programming, or scripting with a focus on large-scale data systems, knowledge graphs or graph-based technologies.
- Strong proficiency with AWS, Docker and Kubernetes.
- Expertise in big data solutions, data standardization, and ingestion processes.
- Familiarity with Apache, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Linux, and Microsoft operating systems.
- Strong programming skills in Java, Python, PHP, REST, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, XML, and KML.
- Proven ability to integrate complex dataflows into national databases and optimize data transport and movement.
- Experience with system design, integration, network architectures, and failover solutions.
- Knowledge of cyber security, system performance, and compliance processes.
- Hands-on experience with testing, simulation, and analysis of network and data systems.
- Can build new tools to compress manual tasks
- Can gather disparate data to construct frameworks
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to various stakeholders, including military and government leaders.
- Due to US Government Contract Requirements, only US Citizens are eligible for this role.
Education:
- BS Degree in Computer Science preferred
Security Clearance:
- Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI is REQUIRED
