Chief Operations Officer

We are actively seeking highly qualified candidates to serve as Chief Operations Officer (COO). The COO is the key senior executive responsible for overseeing and optimizing the company's daily operations. This individual will ensure seamless coordination across departments, enhance operational efficiency, and help drive strategic initiatives that support the company's mission and revenue goals.

The ideal candidate will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to set and execute the organizational vision, mission, and corporate strategy for a fast-growing technology company. The COO will assist the CEO in fostering and developing key relationships with industry partners, key customers, as well as Metron's external directors and advisors. The ideal candidate will provide executive leadership to key operational functions of the organization, optimizing and streamlining internal processes to scale with future growth. Ideally, successful candidates will bring deep industry knowledge, a proven track record of operational excellence, and strong leadership skills to the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide executive oversight to the Business Development, Marketing, Information Technology, Security and Facilities functions of the organization,
• Streamline internal business processes to scale with company growth,
• Engage critical external stakeholders to create new opportunities,
• Support the CFO in risk management and export compliance,
• Organize and facilitate the Metron Board of Advisors,
• Serve as lead executive for corporate strategic initiatives such as semi-annual strategy reviews and annual technology review meetings,
• Mentor rising executives to build the next generation of leaders for Metron.

Desired Skills, Qualifications, & Experience:

• Advanced degree in business administration, finance, economics, law, or a technical field,
• Significant industry experience at the senior executive level in a related industry (defense, technology, research),
• Experience growing a technology company originally focused on research and development into a mid-tier company supporting both R&D and operational products,
• A blend of organizational management, change management, operations, and business development is strongly preferred,
• Ability to think strategically and create actionable plans and initiatives,
• Ability to manage complex operational challenges with strong collaboration building on our strong company culture,
• Must be able to obtain a clearance for access to classified information, current active clearance is preferred.

Position Location: Reston, VA -- expectations of travel, up to 20%
