Founded in 2017 and based in Chicago, Meitheal is focused on the development and commercialization of generic injectable medications and, as of 2022, has expanded its focus to include fertility, biologic, and branded products. Position Summary:

The HR Generalist position effectively manages and supports human resource (HR) operations. This position also works closely with HR Leadership, Finance and Accounting as a general HR ambassador/communication interface to employees and external partners. This is a Chicago-based hybrid role.

The pay range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000. Payrate is determined by considering a person's prior experience and competence.

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Plays a leadership role in the administration of benefit programs, including processing enrollments, changes and terminations. and supports employees understanding of benefits; facilitates open enrollment.
  • Processes required documentation through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions, as well as review benefit statements.
  • Processes bi-weekly payroll.
  • Assist in 401(k) administration: process bi-weekly deferrals/safe harbor match.
  • Records all PTO, Vacation and Sick time for employees and ensures accurate records are maintained.
  • Administers post-payroll and ad hoc reporting activities.
  • Ensuring compliance for the annual W2/ACA reporting process.
  • Understands U.S. and State tax filing requirements to ensure compliance through the payroll vendor.
  • Ensures compliance of all processes for HRIS and Payroll systems.
  • Updates and maintains organizational charts and contact lists.
  • Supports the performance review process, as needed.
  • Drafts and/or sends employee communications and other HR related documentation.
  • Assists in coordinating and conducting training on all HR technology, self-service portals, regulatory compliance topics and benefits as needed.
  • Assists HR leadership in administering training; monitors all HR training programs to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Supports the rolling out Company policies, programs and solutions.
  • Supports and provides timely documentation to internal and external auditors (Audits: Corporate, 401(k), HSA/FSA Non-discrimination testing, Workers Comp).
  • Responsible for completing compliance reporting for EEO, ACA and Benefits.
  • In collaboration with Quality, ensures that all Meitheal jobs have an up-to-date job description; conducts an annual audit to ensure that all job descriptions have been gathered and/or have been updated.
  • Supports the culture and goals of the Company.
  • Supports employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and wellness activities to foster a positive workplace environment.
  • Supports new hire orientation and onboarding processes to ensure a smooth experience.
  • Assist with the implementation of HR-related systems.
  • Maintains confidential and sensitive information involving employees and the Company.
  • Other duties or projects assigned.

Education and/or Experience Required

  • Degree and/or PHR/SHRM certification preferred but not required.
  • 3+ years of progressive HR Generalist experience.
  • 3+ years of payroll processing and administration; multi-state.
  • Basic knowledge of employment law, employee relations and training and development.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or healthcare is a plus.
