*Job Title:* Senior Systems Engineer
*Duration:* 9 Months (Contract to Hire) *Worksite Address:* Fort Belvoir *Workplace Type:* 100% On-Site *Pay Range:* $70-85/Hourly *Description:* The successful candidate will manage all aspects of the network environment and technical goals to ensure the success of delivered solutions. They will mentor other engineers in specific technologies, applications, and operating systems, and navigate complex technical challenges including purchasing, implementation, and troubleshooting. Collaboration with management on future technologies is essential. The candidate will work with a small team of Linux, Virtualization (Nutanix), and Windows Systems Engineers to support customers' technical requirements and maintain development and operational networks. Daily interaction with the team, customers, and government representatives is expected. *Primary Responsibilities:* * Design, lead, and execute new technical solutions and improvements. * Lead training sessions to increase knowledge of existing and new technologies. * Collaborate on projects and assist with advanced troubleshooting. * Research, review, and provide statistics on new technology and cost-benefit analysis. * Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to team members, management, customers, and government personnel. * Identify and resolve technical issues and ensure quality standards are met. * Guide and coordinate technical activities with the team while overseeing multiple projects and priorities. *Basic Qualifications:* * BA/BS degree and 10-15 years of relevant experience or equivalent working experience. * Secret Clearance required; TS preferred. * Current, unexpired CompTIA Security+CE or equivalent. * Experience with automation technologies and methodologies, including Ansible, GitOps, and DevSecOps. * Engineering experience with virtualization technologies (preferably Nutanix, VMware acceptable). * Engineering experience with Windows operating systems, server, and workstations. * Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux. * Experience in maintaining systems in production and development, including patching, STIGs, and troubleshooting. * Effective leadership and communication skills. *Top Skills:* * 7-10 Years of Experience Working with VMware * 7-10 Years of Experience as a Linux/Windows Engineer * Secret Clearance & Sec+ Required. *Additional Skills:* * Proven experience in automation using PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, and other scripting or configuration management tools. * Experience with Windows roles and applications such as Active Directory, CA, DNS, DHCP, and SCCM/MECM. * Experience with Red Hat technologies, including Satellite and the Ansible Automation Platform. * Experience with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices. * Familiarity with Atlassian Jira and Confluence. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $85.00/hr.
