International Trade and Regulatory Compliance Staff Attorney

Steptoe a Washington, DC-based law firm is seeking a Staff Attorney to join the Firm's International Trade and Regulatory Compliance group to work on Customs and Import Compliance matters.

Some prior work experience with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and import/export compliance issues and procedures is preferred, such as work:

(1) at U.S. Customs and Border Protection;

(2) in an internal corporate import/export compliance office;

(3) at a law firm with significant responsibility for import/export regulatory compliance issues

(4) with a customs brokerage.

Candidates should have strong academic credentials and excellent writing and analytical skills and language skills are a plus. Steptoe offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits in a collegial working environment that offers training and mentorship. The expected salary for this position is $135,000 - $170,000, depending on experience.

A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required. Membership in the District of Columbia bar, active and in good standing, is also required.
