JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Senior Document Services Specialist with extensive knowledge and experience in commercial loan documentation and collateral requirements. The Senior Document Services Specialist will be responsible for the preparation of commercial loan documentation and/or review of attorney prepared commercial loan closing documents. The senior specialist will determine the appropriate documentation needed for loan facilities based on review of the credit approval package, and prepare and review legal documents to ensure accuracy.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Loan Officers and bank-appointed attorneys. It is essential for the candidate to demonstrate strong teamwork, effective relationship management, excellent customer service, and communication skills. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while ensuring the best possible closing experience for our customers is crucial for this role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Identify and gather all necessary legal, regulatory, compliance, and bank policy documents for loan transactions to ensure alignment with approved loan structures and adherence to internal legal guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate with approved legal counsel to prepare commercial loan documentation, or independently draft loan documents using the bank's software.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews for loan closings, evaluating borrower and collateral information and collecting required documentation such as OFAC reports, Flood Determinations, UCC searches, Good Standing Certificates, and Title Commitments.
  • Review complex legal documents, ensuring full comprehension of terms and conditions necessary for closing.
  • Verify organizational documents for accuracy of legal name and authority to execute legal agreements.
  • Thoroughly review all legal documentation prior to execution to guarantee accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor pending closing items and collaborate with the loan team to finalize files.
  • Foster positive relationships with lending personnel, closing agents, and attorneys to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Meet established service level and quality standards for the Document Services Department to consistently deliver top-notch customer service.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in various loan products and collateral types, understanding specific requirements for each.
  • In the case of a Business Continuity event, this position requires overnight travel and/or deployment for an extended period of up to 3 weeks.


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • 8+ years of commercial loan processing and documentation experience. LaserPro software experience preferred.
  • MBA from a top program preferred, but candidates with additional commercial loan documentation experience will be given similar consideration.
  • Strong knowledge of requirements for commercial real estate and syndicated loan transactions.
  • Knowledge of commercial banking systems usually acquired through experience is required to extract information from various systems for analysis.
  • Analytical, problem solving, and computer skills are required to analyze documentation, identify deficiencies, and understand collateral requirements and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Outstanding written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as an integral member of a team.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and attend industry events.
  • Interact professionally with internal and external parties.
  • Must be able to type a minimum of 40+ words per minute.
  • Must possess strong PC skills including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with Decision Pro/LaserPro/nCino/SBA Spark and core servicing
    system setting up interfaces, mapping and automation, preferred.
