The Senior Software Engineer from a technical perspective will analyze science, engineering, business, and other data processing problems to develop and implement solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns. Perform systems management and integration functions, improve existing computer systems, and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and schedule limitations. Develop new features and improvements. After the design and Architecture reviews have been completed the tasks are broken up into smaller pieces of work. Writing the code to fulfill the requirements of the smaller pieces of work and developing the new features and improvements to the software. Architecture reviews: Collaborate with team on architecture of software for new changes. Design software application features (code level). Participate in backlog grooming, work estimation, and Sprint Planning. Document functionality: Create documents and materials dealing with the use, functionality, and design of the software changes being implanted. Perform code reviews - Review code changes performed by other engineers to ensure code fulfils requirements, code follows coding styles, and Unit test are implemented. Act as the technical expert with various stakeholders. Build and release pipeline development. Architect application component interactions (component level).

Position allows for 100% remote work. Reports to company HQs in Glendale, CO.

Essential Functions

  • Works as part of a software development team in the design of software applications.

  • Build products out further by improving the performance of our codebase and handle scaling issues to accommodate user growth as well as write thorough tests to ensure code stability requirements.

  • Integrate existing software into new or modify systems or operating environments.

  • Review code, identify system design trade-offs and recommend product revisions or enhancements based on user feedback.

  • Optimize sites for efficiency and scale.

  • Develop and maintain documentation and/or user manuals.

  • Contribute to software development standards and best practices for the company.

  • Provide mentoring to less experienced developers.

Education/ Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or related.

  • Requires 4 years of progressive, post-bachelor's related experience.

  • Must have some experience in each of the following skills: NET Framework with C# experience including using SQL, XML, JSON, XSLT, WPF, JavaScript, Knockout.js, Bootstrap, jQuery, MVC, ASP.Net Web Forms, SOAP Web Services, Web API and restful services; Multi-Threaded and Concurrent systems, and Microservices; Agile Engineering practices (continuous integration, continuous deployment, pair programming, unit testing, refactoring, emergent design, and automated builds); Building and consuming Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) services; Managed Extensibility Framework (MEF); and OOPS, Design Patterns, and SOLID principles

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to accurately convey messages.

  • Ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision.

  • Advanced coding skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript.

  • Ability to solve complex problems, use analytical skills and implement solutions.

  • Advanced knowledge of agile development practices and scrum methodologies.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical documentation such as software requirements, detailed designs, flow charts and database schemas.

  • Commitment and ability to cultivate a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in climate controlled indoor administrative office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, depending upon office or meeting location.
