Diesel Generator Mechanic Lead- Naval Base Ventura County

The Diesel Generator Mechanic Lead is responsible for the overall management of large stationary diesel generators and ancillary equipment maintenance and repair spanning three locations. Work involves oversite and performance of preventive maintenance, including fluid and filter changes, battery servicing, maintenance and inspection of ancillary equipment. Work may include inspecting equipment, diagnosing and repair of malfunctions to the generator's mechanical equipment and systems. Work may involve disassembly of components to perform repairs using hand tools. The Diesel Generator Mechanic Lead responsibilities include oversite and performance of routine preventive maintenance, replacing broken or defective parts with items obtained from stock, ordering replacement parts from OEM Distributors or sourcing from local vendors. The mechanic will also be required to provide written reports documenting maintenance performed and actions taken. Additional duties also include preparing written scope and estimates for major repairs or for the production of parts ordered from machine shops, reassembling machines and making all necessary adjustments for operation. *This position may require supervision of or directing general maintenance workers or maintenance trades helpers to support CM and PM.
