This position is designated as work-from-home.

Description:

  • Our team has an opening for a DevOps Engineer who can bridge the gap between development and operations teams, focusing on automating processes, improving collaboration, and ensuring efficient software delivery. They need strong technical skills, including experience with CI/CD tools, Security scanning tools, scripting languages, containerization, and cloud platforms, along with excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.

Essential Functions & Duties:

  • Automate tasks like infrastructure provisioning, deployment pipelines, and configuration management using tools like Terraform, Ansible.
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jira, Bamboo, Maven and Bitbucket to ensure rapid and reliable software releases.
  • Manage and deploy containerized applications using technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Implement and maintain robust monitoring and logging systems to track application performance and identify potential issues.
  • Work closely with development, operations, and other teams to ensure smooth software delivery and address any issues that arise.
  • Quickly diagnose and resolve issues in the software development and deployment process.
  • Enhance the IT infrastructure's security protocols by identifying and deploying needed cybersecurity measures.
  • Perform vulnerability scanning and use the reports to mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Utilize scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate tasks and develop tools.
  • Deploying infrastructures and code in an AWS cloud environment.
  • Utilize version control systems like Git or bitbucket for code management and collaboration.
  • Assist with remediation of vulnerabilities coming from host, container, image, and code scanning.

Skills, Qualifications and Certifications of Best Candidates:

  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash)
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
  • Experience with PKI and x.509 certificates including certificate lifecycle management
  • Experience with different authentications schemes, such as certificate based, Oauth, MFA
  • Image Hardening and patching experience
  • Knowledge of security scanning, monitoring and logging tools
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Analytical and organizational skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Atlassian, Bamboo, Bitbucket, Maven tools
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience with Red Hat Linux operating systems and JBoss EAP framework
  • Experience with AWS cloud platforms.
  • Experience with Identity providers including Okta
  • Experience with SIEM tools such as Datadog
  • Experience with PKI and x.509 certificates

Citizenship or Work Authorization Required:

  • Candidate must be a U.S. citizen
  • Can obtain Public Trust authorization from the U.S. government.

Preferred Education & Experience

Compensation for roles at Synergy varies depending on a wide variety of factors including but not limited to the requirements of the role; education and certifications; knowledge, training, skills and abilities; level of experience; geographic location; and alignment with market data, law, and other business and organizational needs. As required by local law, the posted pay range represents the lowest to the highest pay that Synergy believes in good faith it might pay for this particular job, depending on the circumstances. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable estimate of the current pay range is: $75,000 - $105,000.

Synergy will accept applications for this role until April 18, 2025.

Essential Job Function Physical Requirements: The physical requirements of this position are critical in evaluating the qualifications and abilities of an applicant or employee. The physical efforts needed to perform the essential duties of this job 90% of the time are repetitive motions, grasping, holding, and finger dexterity of the hands, reading, writing, eye-hand coordination, color distinction, and full visual abilities, hearing, talking, sitting, and use of IT equipment, phones, and office machines.
