Graveyard Tractor Trailer Driver

This is a local long-haul trucking position pulling a 53-foot trailer with garbage and other live loads, from the Transfer station and Mills up to Headquarters Road for disposal.

The schedule will be:

Shift A - 4 0n, 3 0ff, 3 on, 4 off; repeat. (Thursday through sat off one week, Wednesday through sat second week, repeat.

Shift B - 4 off, 3 on, 3 off, 4 on; repeat ( Sunday through Wednesday off one week, Sunday through Tuesday second week, repeat

Starting Rate of pay is $34.07/hr.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Valid Class A CDL with air brakes endorsement. Must have no restrictions and be able to drive interstate.
• Ability to Operate and maneuver Tractor trailer hauling a 53' Foot Trailer.
• Ability to read route sheets or Tablet and service each customer identified or assigned by the dispatcher.
• Perform Daily Pre-trip and Post-Trip inspections on vehicles. Such as checking fluids, safety equipment, lights and tire pressure.
• Minimum 1+ years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Working knowledge of D.O.T. laws
• Courteous interaction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• Ability to work a physically demanding job.
• Willingness to submit to and pass background check and pre-employment drug screening test
• Ability to read, write and comprehend reports to complete daily assignments
• Clean driving record.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

• Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
• Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts. Which require following basic safety precautions.
• The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
