Overview of Responsibilities: Directs the sales, business development, and underwriting activities for the indirect lending area to support the achievement of MSGCU goals. Ensures the financial objectives, strategic goals, and MSGCU's growth targets are achieved in accordance with our policies, state and federal government regulations, and in alignment with our desired member experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Delivers a superior member experience by effectively managing and coaching the indirect lending team to build strong relationships (internal/external) and deliver member-centric solutions.
  • Participates in planning and achievement of indirect lending goals and assists the VP of Lending in the prioritization of dealership engagement and sales growth to ensure alignment and appropriate resource allocation within the indirect lending area. Participates at a strategic policy level to support consumer lending and growth in a positive manner.
  • Maintains and applies advanced knowledge of all aspects of indirect lending, including market trends and sales strategies. Makes good and timely decisions related to direct lending functions by considering all relevant factors and applying appropriate decision-making criteria, even in the absence of complete information, ensuring continued progress in consumer lending operations.
  • Holds self and others accountable to meet commitments and achieve performance standards to ensure a high-quality indirect lending portfolio and dealership satisfaction. Directs the indirect lending team's work by providing clear direction, removing obstacles, empowering, and delegating where appropriate.
  • Builds and retains an effective, high performing team that applies their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals and deliver a positive member and team member experience. Implements best practices to drive engagement levels.
  • Oversees the development and enhancement of consumer lending products to ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations, maintain competitive positioning in the marketplace, deliver value to MSGCU members, and achieve product profitability. Works with the VP of Lending to develop, implement, and monitor performance of new profitable consumer loan products and promotions.
  • Collaborates effectively with internal and external stakeholders to improve relationships, develop teamwork, and deliver high quality member service. Works closely with leaders and other departments to ensure scope and direction of projects, procedures, and documentation is complete and on schedule.
  • Communicates effectively by developing and delivering various forms of communication (written, verbal, presentation) and actively listening to convey a clear understanding of the needs and abilities of different audiences.
  • Gains and instills the confidence and trust of others by modeling honesty, integrity, authenticity, and behaviors that align with organizational values. Makes responsible choices and exemplifies courage by stepping up to address difficult issues.
  • Exhibits self-awareness by soliciting feedback and uses self-reflection to gain productive insight into personal strengths and weaknesses. Applies feedback to personal development using both formal and informal development channels.


Essential Preparation and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or other related field required.
  • 5 years of related, progressively more responsible indirect lending and underwriting experience, with a demonstrated history of managing and expanding dealership relationships; and
  • 3 years of leadership experience required.


Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base salary begins at $87,000 / year
  • Medical, dental and vision on your first day! You can choose the most generous Health Savings Account (HSA)-eligible medical plan with no monthly premium for you (and your family)
  • If you are at least 21 years old, you will receive a 3% contribution from MSGCU, and a 100% match for the next 7% you contribute to your 401(k)
  • You will enjoy 12 paid holidays and up to 120 hours of PTO your first year of service (pro-rated based on start date)


Working Conditions:



  • Office and branch location environment with little discomfort from noise, extreme temperature, dust, or other factors.
  • Occasionally required to travel throughout MSGCU's service area as business needs require.
  • Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, such as robbery. Receives detailed instructions and security procedures on an annual basis to minimize risk.
  • This work involves sitting most of the time with brief periods of walking or standing and may occasionally require lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
