Patient Care Technician - Acute Care of the Elderly Unit - 36/Hours a Week Night Shift

Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Rotating every other weekend

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Unit Description:

Henry Ford St John Hospital's 4 East Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) unit is a 24-bed unit specializing in geriatric care as well as some stroke cases of all ages. PCT's have the support of Licensed Practical Nurses, Nurse Interns and Registered Nurses on a daily basis. We operate with a team mentality, and enjoy building relationships with our patients throughout their stay (typically a minimum of 3 days). • Performs basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.
• Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living
• Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Documents necessary records.|
• Keeps patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintains medical equipment.
