The Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Corewell Health in Southeast Michigan is recruiting a full-time Interventional Cardiology Specialist.

Corewell Health Trenton Hospital, located in Trenton, Michigan, is seeking an interventional cardiologist to join a robust and nationally ranked heart disease program. In this role, the physician will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, nurse coordinators, and clinical and quality staff to support a highly developed structural heart program, including TAVR, TMVR, MitraClip, LAAC, PFO/VSD, paravalvular leak closure and related procedures.

Clinical responsibilities will include structural and invasive procedures, inpatient rounding, and outpatient clinic. The candidate must possess strong clinical skills and have significant experience in structural heart procedures, as well as a track record of clinical research, commitment to teaching, and strong desire to advance innovation in a structural heart program.

Corewell Health Trenton Hospital:

Corewell Health Trenton Hospital is a 193-bed acute care teaching hospital that sponsors nine university-affiliated residency programs. The hospital opened its doors to Trenton and its surrounding communities in 1961. It became part of Beaumont Health in September 2014.In addition to providing comprehensive medical and surgical care for its patients, the hospital offers all private beds, a medical and surgical intensive care unit, obstetrical care and otherspecialty servicesto assist our community.There are 6 inpatient operating rooms, an inpatient cystoscopy suite, an inpatient endoscopy suite, a cath lab/IR suite with 2 bays, and 2 dedicated OB operating rooms. There is an attached outpatient surgery center with 4 operating rooms and 2 endoscopy suites, along with 2 DaVinci surgical robots, with one in the surgery center 2 days per week. There is an anesthesiologist and CRNA on site 24/7. Corewell Trenton is a close knit group of physicians, nurses, and professionals that care for a population with diverse pathology. While most medical problems are actively managed on site, we do have the Corewell and greater Metro Detroit facilities available to care for the most complex of patients. The ED is frequently #1 or 2 in acuity of patients, with top scores for mortality -we care for very sick patients and get very good outcomes. Our patient catchment is large, and spans from the Ohio-Michigan border to Dearborn along the I-75 and I-275 corridors.

Trentonis a suburb of Detroit with a population of 18,420, located in Wayne County and is one of the best places to live in Michigan. Living in Trenton offers residents a sparse suburban feel, there are a lot of restaurants and parks. The public schools in Trenton are above average.

Woodhaven-Brownstown, Trenton, Gibraltar and Grosse Ile all have highly rated school districts with excellent high school sports teams. Residential communities in close proximity to the hospital are sprawling suburban to rural. Many of the physicians live here. Some physicians choose to commute from areas such as Ann Arbor, Detroit, Livonia, and Bloomfield Hills because the commutes and traffic are reasonable.

There is world-class fishing and hunting. Trenton is home to the Detroit International Wildlife Refuge. There are numerous parks and playgrounds to enjoy the outdoors. For both kids and adults, there are numerous ice rinks for hockey and figure skating, dance studios, karate studios, gymnastics training facilities, and recreational sports teams. Downriver is a short drive to Detroit for entertainment, sporting events, and restaurants. It is a 5 hour or less drive to Chicago, western Michigan, Traverse City, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Toronto, and Niagara Falls.
