*Description*
The IT Analyst / Data Analyst provides application and data analytics support to a energy team in Birmingham, Alabama. Responsibilities include collaborating closely with business partners to create and support applications, databases, ML data models, and reports. A broad technical and business background, as well as the ability to think strategically and act tactically, are important dimensions for success in this role. Experience in power generation, specifically nuclear power, would be advantageous. This role is required to comply with all Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations including the requirement to successfully pass (>80%) NRC and other yearly required exams. In addition, initial/random Federal Drug Testing program, psychological testing, and background investigations are required to ensure a drug/alcohol free work environment and to ensure employees are trustworthy and reliable. Job Responsibilities: *Support reporting database including jobs, SSIS packages, security, connectivity, creation and maintenance of ETL processes. *Engage in cross-functional projects, utilizing advanced data modeling to inform strategic decisions and identify optimization opportunities. *Design and implement technical processes to address business challenges. *Manage the design and delivery of reporting products and requests: tracking requests submitted, prioritization, approval, etc. *Uphold data accuracy and reporting quality through comprehensive policies and processes. *Optimize processes for data handling, validation, mining, and visualization to meet business objectives. *Skills* Sql, Data, Data analysis, Tableau, Power bi, Python, Analytic, Sql queries, Data modeling, Etl *Top Skills Details* Sql,Data,Data analysis,Tableau,Power bi,Python,Analytic,Sql queries,Data modeling,Etl *Additional Skills & Qualifications* *Data preparation and visualization: Proficiency in data transformation and tools like Power BI, Power Query. *Integration: Experience moving data using ETL tools. APIs / Postman experience a plus. *SQL Expertise: Strong knowledge of SQL in both Microsoft and Oracle environments. *Cloud Services: Experience with cloud platforms a plus, Azure / Databricks. *Database Management: Experience in database support and server management is highly desirable. *Experience in system development practices, methodology and tools *Languages: SQL. C#, Python, Blazor preferred. *Platforms: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database. Kubernetes, RedHat OpenShift, Docker prefered. Competencies: *Analytical and problem-solving expert, who is also a quick learner and effective applicator of new technologies. *Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining quality and a solid grasp of change management principles. *Fosters cooperative relationships and teamwork, dedicated to customer service excellence, and adept at communicating complex technical issues in understandable business terms. *Software Development Life Cycle and development principles. *Unquestionable trust, superior performance, and total commitment. *Experience Level* Entry Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
