The challenge

Are you excited by the opportunity to enhance developer experience, optimize engineering workflows, and improve DevOps or equivalent experience at scale? Do you want to play a key role in modernizing engineering efficiency across teams that impact millions of users? If so, Adobe is in need of a passionate Senior Engineer to champion innovation in Developer Experience (DevX) and DevOps or equivalent experience.

In this role, you will work closely with engineering teams to improve development velocity, standardize tooling, streamline CI/CD pipelines, and create a frictionless DevX ecosystem. Your expertise will directly impact how developers build, test, and ship software-reducing bottlenecks, increasing automation, and ensuring robust, scalable, and secure workflows.

We are seeking a driven and technically skilled engineer who thrives in fast-paced, multi-functional environments and motivated by building developer-first solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Architect and build scalable tooling to improve developer workflows across multiple teams.
  • Partner with engineering teams to identify bottlenecks and develop solutions that enhance efficiency in software delivery.
  • Optimize CI pipelines for speed, reliability, and ease of use, integrating best-in-class automation and observability.
  • Develop and promote standard processes for developer productivity, including dependency management, build optimization, and local development experience.
  • Collaborate with application development and Infrastructure teams to deliver high value, reliable systems and tooling.
  • Advocate for observability-first principles, implementing metrics, telemetry, and real-time insights to drive engineering decisions.
  • Shape technical strategy and roadmap for developer experience and platform engineering, aligning with business goals and industry trends.

  • Has strong technical background with familiarity in developing packaged software for multiple platforms; Mac, Windows, Mobile.
  • Is passionate about improving developer productivity and creating streamlined engineering workflows.
  • Is data-driven, using insights to guide decisions on DevX improvements.
  • Is a strong problem solver, proactively addressing difficulties in software development processes.
  • Has a deep understanding of CI/CD, automation, and modern infrastructure practices.
  • Thrives in multi-functional environments, collaborating with engineers, product managers, and infrastructure teams.
  • Has experience implementing developer self-service platforms, reducing operational toil.
  • Is customer-focused, ensuring developer needs and feedback shape tooling improvements.
  • Communicates optimally, both technically and strategically, across multiple groups
Experience & Education
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 7 years of proven experience in software engineering, DevOps, or developer tooling.
  • Strong expertise in DevOps practices, including CI/CD, automation, and observability.
  • Experience with modern build systems (e.g., Bazel, Buck, and CMake) and dependency management.
  • Proficiency in C++, Python, or other automation-focused languages.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD).
  • Experience with developer productivity tooling, such as Clang-Tidy, static analysis, and test frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native development and infrastructure as code is a plus.
  • Familiarity with telemetry, logging, and supervising to measure developer experience at scale.
  • Familiarity using GenAI for automating DevOps tasks a plus

The U.S. pay range for this positionis $153,600 -- $286,600 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
