Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Job Summary: The Career Advisor provides comprehensive career development and professional employment services to students and alumni interested in various careers through career-related advising, assessment, resume approval, individual student job search assistance, and development and delivery of workshops/classes on a variety of career topics.

Additional Department Summary: The Career Advisor provides comprehensive career development and professional employment services to students and alumni in the Culverhouse College of Business. Supports students through career-related advising, assessment, resume review/approval, interview skills, employer research, etc. Provides individual student job search assistance and develops/delivers workshops and classroom presentations on a variety of career topics.

Provides career-related advising, assessment, resume review/approval, individual student job search assistance, development, and delivery of workshops/classes on a variety of career topics. Functions as a Career Advisor for students and alumni in the Culverhouse College of Business. May serves on a variety of related committees. Assists with outreach to faculty/staff and student organizations. Assists with planning, development and organization of special events for the Career Center at Culverhouse. Increases knowledge and proficiency with campus recruiting software, identifies and reviews print and web-based career resources, and contributes to the continued development of the website. Coordinates with the other career services and college staff, as well as other university units when appropriate. Completes required training related to laws and regulations, which supports a more hospitable, respectful, and safe work environment.

Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher with at least one (1) year of experience in career services, student services, business, human resources management, or counseling.

Skills and Knowledge: Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) or more years in a university setting. Experience working in career services. Master's degree preferred.
