Stark State is seeking a Culinary Cafe Coordinator to oversee the daily operations of our Culinary Cafe Lab. This dynamic role is split equally between hands-on lab responsibilities and instructional duties. You'll be essential in creating a professional, efficient, and inspiring environment for culinary students and guests alike.
Typical Hours of Work:
While instructors must be available to teach during both daytime and evening hours as needed, the typical schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Location: Main Campus (North Canton, Ohio) and Stark State Akron Campus.
Salary: $43,806 to $56,947

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Culinary Cafe Lab, ensuring seamless service and a high-quality experience for guests.
- Maintain sanitation and food safety standards in accordance with SERV Safe and local health department regulations.
- Coordinate cafe menus and work collaboratively with the Marketing team to promote offerings.
- Act as the primary liaison with the county Health Department, ensuring timely inspections and compliance
- Supervise and mentor students in a live lab setting, fostering both technical and professional growth.
- Maintain accurate inventory and ensure cost-effective ordering and stock rotation.
- Deliver engaging, effective instruction in culinary courses, with a focus on hands-on learning and industry relevance.
To Be Considered, You'll Need:
- An Associate's degree (or higher) in Culinary Arts from an accredited institution.
- Current SERV Safe Food Manager or Instructor Certification, or equivalent National Restaurant Association certification
- At least three years of full-time experience in food service, including scratch kitchen experience
- Experience in managing a budget, as well as food service operations, is required
- Budget management and food service operations experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
