We are seeking an HR Advisor to play a crucial role in providing comprehensive human resource support to leaders and employees within our organization. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the fair and consistent application of Human Resources (HR) policies, procedures, and processes, while also offering guidance to enhance people effectiveness.

This role is a great opportunity to work with a collaborative team and continue your development as a skilled generalist in a fast paced and challenging work environment. Working a 5 days on /2 off roster and reporting to the HR Manager - SLC, you will be:

  • Providing human resource support to Human Resource Business Partners, leaders and employees within client group.
  • Assisting in implementation of human resources programs and policies within the business.
  • Supporting leaders and Human Resource Business Partners with the implementation of operational projects and recurring annual activities such as salary review, talent review and performance management.
  • Advising on human resources policies and procedures, employee relations, performance, labour and regulatory issues.
  • Providing feedback on policies, procedures and programs to AoEs.
  • Providing coaching to leaders to support effective workplace relationships and increase skill level in employee management.
  • Developing skills and provide advice, support and coaching in the use of human resources systems (e.g., remuneration/benefits, performance management).
  • Conducting investigations into breaches of policy and procedure.
  • Leading special projects and other initiatives (e.g. employee engagement, performance and capability improvement, attractions and retention initiatives).
  • Identifying improvement initiatives in human resources processes.

What you'll bring

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field,
  • 3-5 years of relevant HR experience working in HR roles with a focus on HR advisory functions.
  • Knowledge of HR Policies and Procedures: A strong understanding of HR policies, procedures, and processes is required. Candidates should be familiar with current employment laws and regulations.
  • Guidance and Support: The ability to provide guidance and support to leaders and employees on a range of HR matters. Candidates should be able to effectively address employee relations issues, performance management concerns, and other HR-related inquiries.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization and possess strong coaching and influencing abilities.
  • HR Systems Proficiency: Proficiency in HR systems and tools is highly desirable. Candidates should be comfortable using HR information systems platforms and other relevant software to manage employee data, generate reports, and provide training and support as needed.
  • Extensive experience with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Planning/organizing-prioritize and plan for multiple, competing work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans

Where you'll be working

Our Kennecott mine is a world-class, fully integrated copper mining operation, including a concentrator, smelter and refinery, located just outside Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States. We produce copper, precious metals including gold and silver, molybdenum, tellurium and sulfuric acid. Kennecott has been mining and processing minerals from the rich ore body of the Bingham Canyon Mine since 1903, and is one of the top producing mines in the world, comprising approximately 11 percent of U.S. annual copper production.
