Overview Manage the Amerex Defense military and government product offering to the US and allied foreign militaries, through direct-to-OEM, government procurement agencies and select distribution. Responsibilities
- Participate in the development and execution of a plan to penetrate the military and government facilities markets in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including Internal (sales, engineering, marketing, purchasing, planning, production, finance, and operations) and External (Amerex Defense distributors, OEM's, Systems Integrators, civilian fire suppression decision makers, DLA, and GSA government procurement offices)
- Develop and implement the pricing strategy to ensure market penetration and targeted margins. Work withother Amerex departments to ensure accurate materials, labor, and logistics costs.
- Under the direction of the Defense Director, develop the annual Defense Products and Systems category budget.
- Work with Marketing, Defense Sales, Engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure Amerex Defense has arobust and innovative line of fire extinguisher products to address the targeted market needs and applications with competitive pricing which ensures consistent and repetitive winning of government bids.
- Communicate changes or new products internally and externally, in coordination with Marketing and Sales.
- Develop pricing and proposals in coordination with Defense Sales Manager, Inside Sales and Defense Director.
- Forecasting - coordinate and communicate activities related to the category forecast on a frequent basis.
- Help ensure proper inventories and processes are in place to meet customer order demand and determinewhen make-to-order strategies are preferred.
- Create, with the Marketing team, literature and sales brochures including specification sheets.
- Manage and support Defense Project Manager as needed.
- Maintain an active role in representing Amerex Corporation in specific industry and customer organizations,and at trade events.
- Present Amerex Defense fire suppression product offerings to key OEM and government personnel.
- Ability to travel up to 25% is required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a product or technical support capacity; project management and engineering background is preferred.
- College degree (4 year), preferably engineering.
- Excellent communication skills - verbal, written, presentation, and technical. Must be able to conduct meetings in person and remotely using all forms of technology.
- Proficient in technology including Microsoft Office, Power BI, Teams, CRM, enterprise systems, media, andcollaboration tools.
- Project management skills and experience - accuracy and timeliness in meeting deadlines.
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
- Must be able to work both independently and as a team member - management experience strongly preferred.
