Senior Sales Manager (TiO2 & Zircon, Europe & Americas)

As the Senior Sales Manager - TiO2 & Zircon, you will develop and sustain RTIT's leading market position in collaboration with a stakeholder set and with a small sales team reporting to you. This is a pivotal role delivering high value commercial outcomes against strategic objectives.

Reporting to the General Manager, TiO2 and Zircon, this role will:

  • Develop, track and attain sales targets for TiO2 feedstock, Rutile and Zircon products in Europe & Americas (E&A).
  • Lead negotiations in sales contracts from mandate to execution including in large and complex deals.
  • Manage key commercial activities, customer relationships and strategic partnerships to support global strategy.
  • In collaboration with Integrated Planning and S&OP, ensure sales book and supply chain optimization, risks and contract optionality are linked to operational capabilities and risks of our production sites.
  • Maintain effective stakeholder engagement and cross functional relationships within Rio Tinto to align voice-of-customer with broader business objectives
  • In conjunction with Market Analysis and Strategy provide insights into market conditions and commercial strategy deployment
  • Lead, develop and engage team members to develop professionally

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • Strong strategic and commercial acumen with at least 8 years of prior experience in frontline sales & marketing management, preferably in metals and minerals upstream or downstream industries.
  • Strong communication, persuasion and reasoning skills. Ability to communicate the technical benefits of our products. Fluency in English essential, with knowledge of French or Spanish helpful
  • The ability to build understanding and trust between the sales team, customers, partners and stakeholders.
  • The ability to identify and engage with market opportunities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical, Business, Commerce, or equivalent is required. A strong attention to detail is essential as is good computer literacy.
  • Adherence to Rio Tinto behaviours will be required
  • Ability to travel
